Samal Island Hostages Appears in Video

samal hostagesA video was uploaded in Youtube showing the four kidnapped victims, three foreign nationals and a Filipina which was abducted at Holiday Oceanview Resort of Samal Island.

It was now clear that they were in the custody of the group Abu Sayyaf  in Sulu. The Foreigner victims are Canadian nationals namely Robert Hall, John Ridsdel, Norwegian national Kjartan Sekkingstad and a filipina woman named Marithes Flor.

The video that was uploaded in Youtube has a clear message to the governments, with the hostages in front with guns pointed at them and the group behind them. They were allowed to send a message during the video appealing for the Philippine government to stop military actions to them. Robert Hall was the first one to uttered his message. Sekkingstad spoke next and said “please meet their demands or else we will be possibly dead”. Last to speak was Ridsdel.

After the three foreigners have spoken, one of the Abu Sayyaf member wearing a sunglasses and a scarfe with face completely covered and stated their demand to stop military operations against the group. they also mentioned that once the military operation will stop they will then talk about the negotation in regards with the hostages.
