Jason Morris, an Australian terror expert which is now in Bangkok said on the Today Show in Australia that the explosion had all the indications that it is a terror attack. He said “It does certainly seem like it was a deliberate attack, and the shrine is well-known and is frequented by a large number of tourists and you’ve got to remember at 7pm at that time in Bangkok on that particular intersection there’s going to be a traffic jam, there’s going to be a lot of Thais, a lot of tourists in there so yes it does seem to be targeted deliberately at casualties”.
An investigation about what bomb has been used is now being investigated by Thai police.Lieutenant General Prawut Thavornsiri, police spokesman said that “I can confirm it was a bomb, we can’t tell which kind yet, we are checking,”.
The blast was also caught on cam by a Chinese tourist and one of the dash cam of a car just few meters away from the blast.
